there's something about...

vintage postcards. i love everything about them.
they will definitely play a part in my wedding day stationery (in a capacity that has yet to be determined).

i can admit when i'm wrong.

i used to think denim on denim was a crime- but i think christina and reese look very cute in their weekend-wear...

don't judge.

i just can't help myself... i love some bethenny frankel.

will you ridicule me if i show up to the health and fitness expo with a bottle of skinny girl margarita in hand?

make it a double.

i agree with interior designer marie turner at elle decor, there's something grown-up and classic about a bar cart. the look reminds me of the 60's and it's no secret i love mad men- the fashion and the debauchery. i can easily imagine a bar on wheels in every office at sterling, cooper, draper, and pryce.

joanna at a cup of jo has a fantastic vintage brass cart

and there's a lovely compilation of bar cart photos at habitually chic

if the non-vintage variety would appease me, i would scoop up this nugget (on sale) at restoration hardware

i'll continue my search at grandview mercantile this weekend...

detox

after a week-long vacation, i feel the need to detox... now, my idea of a detox and this lady's idea are very different. unlike gwyneth, i could not subsist on juice all day and one meager salad in the evening. for me, a "detox" means less sauvignon blanc and more water, less frozen yogurt and more vegetables and fruit.

if you follow a healthy eating blog, you're probably already aware of the green monster... a concoction that looks like something skimmed from a swamp. a smoothie that gets its bright green hue from spinach, kale, or another green. i'm a big fan. starting my day with a green drink (or ending a workout with one) makes me feel good... even if i decide to chase it with a wheel of brie.

here's my favorite recipe:

green smoothie

1 cup frozen banana slices
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 tablespoon chia seeds
3-4 cups baby spinach
a splash of vanilla extract
1 cup of ice cubes
(sometimes i add fage yogurt or a little green superfoods powder)
